Our History

LoadMatch Logistics, Inc. formed as a freight brokerage operation in 2006 with a single mission: Help exporters find compatible empty import containers to utilize for export bookings. Our initial customer base included exporters of high volume commodities such as forest products, waste paper, scrap metal and plastic, textile waste and agricultural products.

As business boomed, we began to focus on imports to complement rising export volumes. Importers, quick to recognize the company's value proposition, saw their volumes take off in late 2008 and our volume followed suit.

Throughout this growth and development curve, we recognized the need for better communication between our customers and our trucking partners. ARCtrac, our proprietary database management tool, thus has been under continual development to enhance communication, efficiency, cost and profitability.

We next launched LML Express, Inc., a subsidiary trucking operation designed to better control cost, quality and capacity. In 2012, we started a second subsidiary company, 123 Express, Inc. The goal here was to continue to develop capacity, as well as to enhance quality and competitiveness. A third subsidiary motor carrier company, Veterans Express, Inc., opened in 2013 to provide opportunities for transitioning U.S. military veterans.

On January 1, 2016, LoadMatch Logistics announced a complete brand overhaul. “Going forward, we will be known as A.R.C. Transit,” said CEO Gary L. Winstead. “This new name and brand was years in the making, and we’re excited to have arrived at this point. We’ve grown as a business in everything we do – from the solutions we provide to the size of our team. We’re not simply ‘Matching Loads’ anymore. We’re a full-service transportation solutions provider.”

The name A.R.C. Transit emerged via a thorough branding process. While dozens of titles made the initial list, stakeholders decided on “Arc” as a key moniker because it describes an electrical charge between two points. Its letters likewise represent an acronym for Accurate, Responsive and Capable – descriptors that clients consistently apply to the company.

“We really see ourselves as the energy connecting businesses from Point A to Point B – literally and figuratively,” Winstead said. “We’ve always aimed to more efficiently help power the channels of commerce and streamline the international supply chain. A.R.C. Transit speaks to that mission.”

A.R.C. Transit and its three trucking subsidiaries currently move more than 6,000 containers per month. The company as a whole has some 43 employees, with 240 owner operators and terminal operations in seven states.

Subsidiaries

VETERANS EXPRESS, Inc. , was formed in March 2013 to help US military veterans. The idea was formed around being able to offer economic opportunity to our men and women in uniform transitioning to the private sector -- VETERANS EXPRESS offers CDL qualified veterans an opportunity to earn a living for themselves and their families in the nation who's freedom they protect and defend.
